Old photographs proved to be an invaluable resource in connecting children with the area and with their own family. Some great resources were identified in the course of the project.

Case Study: Gaelscoil na bhFàl –Old Photos

“Belfast Family History was another brilliant site. We found we were stuck for images apart from the old photographs that they brought in but they were just the very formal photographs but Belfast Family History was brilliant. It’s just image after image, so they went through the streets like Donegall Place and the trams and they were able to identify Primark… I was kinda stuck at the start. Once we got into the census and once we got into that site there was an awful lot we got from it.”
